It took a few price drops to get there, but the old Fountain homestead has a deal
/24 Gilliam Lane, in Riverside, started at $4.995 million a year or so ago and I predicted then that notwithstanding my personal affection for the house, the street and the property, that seemed too high a price. Many price cuts later, it's reported pending at $3.495 million.
Agent Ann Simson was the lucky beneficiary of the sellers' despair, picking up the listing, with its last price, just last month. In a way, that's fair: why should the original agent be rewarded for so grievously misplacing it to begin with?
(UPDATE for market watchers: I'm told there was at least one other bid submitted for the property, same price range, so as noted here before, buyers are out looking)
