GHS parents seek to raise private funds to buy a new Steinway for the Music Palace

They claim that the piano now in the new "Bllion-Dollar Center for the Advancement of Spoiled Teens Vaguely Interested in Music" is beat up, decrepit and just plain dead, and I'm sure it is: it's been abused for decades. I'm not as convinced that a Steinway is the answer as opposed to say, a Yamaha (which might not be cheaper anyway), but what do I know from pianos? The point is, the parents intend to raise $145,000 for the new instrument, and buy it for the town.

There's no website established yet to accept funds - it's due April 1st -  but I'll link to it then, and donate to it myself. Good for the parents, to see a need and ask fellow residents to voluntarily help meet it, rather than play Junior League and force feed a project on unwilling taxpayers.
