Good news, bad news

The owners of 27 Doverton, which started in 2015 at $7.850 million and slowly dropped to its current price of $6.950, have announced a (contingent) contract. That's the good news. The bad news? They paid $8.1 for it back in 2012.

I never liked this house, built by Mark Mariani in 2007 and initially priced by him at $11.750, and neither did potential buyers, who shunned it for 5 years, before these owners stepped up to the plate. It must have seemed like a bargain, given the disparity between where it had started and where it ended up; it wasn't, and had they asked, I'd have told them so.
