Well this has got to suck for the builders of One Doverton
/19 Doverton Drive, 12,000 sq.ft. and asking $8.498 million, has a sales contract after just 95 days on the market.
I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall at BSF builders, owners of No. One (11,00 square feet), when they learned that 19 had an accepted offer (my guess is that would have been June 26, when they dropped their price from $8.495 to $7.9950. One Doverton has been on the market since November, 2015, when it came on at $10.950 million: the builders of 19 obviously learned from BSF's misjudgment.
To my eye, 19 is better looking than 1, but that's irrelevant: what does matter is that the buyers of 19 thought so too, and they must certainly have looked at both.
I haven't noticed a huge demand for mansions-on-steroids in the Back Country recently, so BSF may have just lost the one consumer of their product who was out there.
