Ferdinand Steyer. I've written about Ferdinand before: incredibly talented, awesomely honest, total mensch, and the go-to-guy for new construction, additions or renovations, but my last attempt to promote my friend was sort of trashed by EOS, who didn't, with all due deference to my Bedford amigo, grasp the benefits and savings a construction manager (which is essentially, what a contractor is these days, minus mark-up) can bring to a project.
All that notwithstanding, if you want a standard GC relationship, Ferd's good for that too: he used to help run Texaco's construction division, and if he could successfully oversee building 200,000 sq. ft facilities, he can certainly look after your interests while building a more modest residence,
