Greenwich Hospital, our local health emporium best known for its Starbucks coffee and the state's worst quality care rating, will spend $160 million converting the facility to single-patient rooms. “Moving services out of the main hospital on Perryridge Road, and downsizing the administrative suite there, will allow for a reconfiguration of the building. A total of 56 private rooms will come out of the reconstruction process, making almost every room a private room at the hospital, for one patient only.
“It really is the standard of care — it’s better for patients who are ill, infection control, families, noise,” the hospital president said. The semi-private rooms will be phased out, with only eight patients to be housed into those rooms after the work is done.”
