Build in haste, repent at leisure
/19 Meadow Drive in Rock Ridge has sold for $7.650 million. Its builder paid $3.9 for the land in 2016 and initially listed this, in February 2017 at $13.995. It had dropped to $9.495 million by May, and when I reported that it had a contract then, I naively suggested that at that price, the builder would surely make some profit, even if not the one he’d expected when he was asking $14. A reader who knows construction costs wrote to say no, $9.495 would yield a loss. If so, $7.650 must really suck.
