Zaccheus Mead sale

72 Zaccheus Mead Lane, $1,657,500. A 1915 stable? Serf quarters?. Whatever its original intended purpose, it’s past due for either a complete makeover or a trip to the dumpster. As an aside, the owners tried for $3.495 million back in 2006 but the market wasn’t that crazy, even then.

But this is an interesting agent-to-agent note: “Sale price was $1.7. Buyers represented themselves and we credited commission to him, thus the $1,657,500.” Normally, listing agents thank self-represented buyers for their efforts on their own behalf, and then pocket the full 5% commission. I hope this broker’s generosity doesn’t signal an end to that lucrative practice.
