Riverside price change with a twist

Sixteen days after hitting the market at $2.775 million, 24 Terrace Avenue has raised its price to $2.950. I’d think that, if offers were coming in at above the asking price, a simple “highest and best” contest would resolve things overnight — why drag this out?
