/The owners of 62 Sherwood Avenue (not to be confused with Sherwood Farms, mentioned below) paid $3.557 million for it on November 10 last year, fixed it up and put it back on the market on Nagasaki Day, August 9th this summer at $5.1 million.
It’s a very nice house, on a beautiful lot of 5 acres, but it’s still on Sherwood Avenue, so a hike of $1,543,00 was going to be a reach. Many improvements were made, including replacing windows, which is expensive, but something buyers aren’t usually prepared to pay for: houses are supposed to have windows, roofs, and furnaces, and their updating doesn’t garner much credit.
In any event, $5.1 did prove too high, and the price dropped to $4.750 today. That may still not be enough.
