When impossible dreams hit the cold darkness of fact

EU is reclassifying natural gas and nuclear power plants “Green Energy”.

[R]eality seems to be setting in at the European Union as the new year arrives. No longer able to make the math work, they unveiled a plan to modify their “green energy conversion” schedule this week. Rather than creating more wind and solar power, they’re just going to declare that natural gas and nuclear power qualify as being “green.” That echoing slapping sound you’re hearing is the rest of the world smacking itself on the forehead and saying, ‘how did we not think of this?

Of course, a retreat — or return to sanity, if you will — will only work if we actually have nuclear and gas power plants. Greens have been hard at work making sure we don’t, precisely to stop the process of deindustrialization. So far, they’re way ahead of humanity.

UPDATE:

SNOWFALLS ARE NOW JUST A THING OF THE PAST: Alberta wind and solar produced 76 megawatts out of a theoretical 3,005 megawatts at noon on New Year’s Eve, with cold warnings all over the province.

At best, wind and solar yield just 10% -30% of their theoretical capacity, so get ready to see a huge number of them constructed, far more than what the Greenies are currently (ahem) claiming will be sufficient to power our needs. And that’s only if you can see in the dark
