Finally, some real estate news to report today, and it's a downtown sale at what to me is a surprising price
/269 Milbank Avenue, “new” construction on the bones of an older home, has sold for full-price: $5.7 million, 63 days on market. I don’t know if these recent downtown prices are comparable to NYC’s; I suppose they aren’t, but they’re certainly higher than we’re used to seeing for this neighborhood. Of course, these are sales of new construction, rather than the old 1910-ish houses, but it’s more the prices commanded by what was once a relatively affordable neighborhood and location that astonishes. It may not be progress, but it’s definitely change.
