To ease the school bus driver shortage, the feds will no longer require applicants to demonstrate a knowledge of engine components. But only until March 31st, so keep those diagrams handy.

Hell, Ol’ Dependables couldn’t do that even on one of his few good days, but so what? Does safely transporting school children really require an ability to know the difference between a sparkplug and a battery? Half the drivers on the road today probably can’t pull that off, but I’m more concerned about them tailgating, texting, or freshening their lipstick while driving. Let their mechanic worry about where the fuel pump is.
