Brother Gideon goes slumming

Taking a breather from peddling $100 million estates and former Russian oligarchs’ yachts, Gideon took a listing at 141 Hendrie Avenue, and it has just sold for $1.995 million. Built in 1939, the house sits on what is now, post-zoning, a double lot, but that extra land is subject to a deed restriction that protects it from development. No matter: a decently sized lot is rare in Riverside, and because the price reflected that bar to building a second house next door, the new owner got the extra space for, essentially, free.
