Right there alongside Greenwich's "Hardscrabble Road" and Redding's "Poverty Hollow"
/64 Toilsome Road, in Norwalk, has sold for $670,000.
It’s too bad we no longer have Hooker Lane in Cos Cob to give other towns a run for their money, but its residents, alas, either tired of the shame heaped on their grandmothers, or perhaps weary of teenagers stealing the road signs to use as dorm room decorations, changed its name to “Stonebrook”, which was no improvement at all.
I found some other interesting contenders in this article, including “Booger Road” in Alabama, and “Yellow Snow Road” (in Alaska, of course). More at the link, if you’re curious.
