Greenwich's own version of Sam Bankman-Fried, Walter Noel, is at the Field Club tonight

He was already looking shopworn (and a bit tipsy) in 2008; time hasn’t been kind to him since

The last reported public sighting of Bernie Madoff’s un-indicted co-conspirator was all the way back in 2012 at the Belle Haven Club, but I’m sure he’s been around, just keeping a low profile. It’s no wonder he’s ben reclusive, though. After all, Madoff recruited Noel to gain access to Fairfield County’s WASP money, an area that Madoff felt was off-limits to a Jew, and Walt focused much of his efforts on his friends in the Greenwich club circuit; many of those victims may still be a bit sore.

But apparently, at least for tonight, Walt and the lovely Monica feel comfortable visiting one of Walt’s old hunting grounds. Of course, Walt is so old now that he may not remember what he got up to back then.
