Port Chester resident, citizen status unspecified, is caught running from a stolen vehicle after his sneakers fall off

On Sunday around 12:30 am, Greenwich Police responded to West Putnam Ave at the state line for a license plate reader hit on a stolen vehicle

Officers located the car and attempted to stop it on North Water Street, but the car sped away and officers lost sight of it.

The car crashed in the area of Delavan Ave at the intersection of the I95 southbound ramp at Exit 2 and the occupants fled on foot.

Investigation revealed that Jaquez Ashton Dixon, 20, of Port Chester, NY was a passenger in the stolen car that became damaged in the crash.

Dixon fled on foot and attempted to hide in the woods, prior to his arrest, losing his sneakers in the process.

Police located the sneakers near the crime scene and Mr. Dixon admitted they were his.
