Following up on 117 John Street, which we wrote about when it went to contract two weeks ago

It has sold for $2.7 on its asking price of $2.795. It sold for $3.3 in 2004, but the buyer then (and seller now) was the 7 Bridges Foundation acres the street, and I wonder whether the Foundation was more interested in protecting the neighborhood than getting a bargain

Regardless, it’s a nice old, 1825 house, with beautiful grounds.

UPDATE: Searching my site for mentions of this house, I see that it suffered a “major fire” back in 2016. It obviously survived, fortunately.
