The grownups meet the generation that will replace them, and it's not pretty

Junior Goldman bankers threaten to quit over demand that they show up at work

It was once thought that privileged campus snowflakes would grow up and leave their sense of entitlement behind them when they hit the real world. That assumption was wrong; they brought their college sensitivities and fragility with them, and they’re taking over the corporate world. This should be interesting.

UPDATE, 3/31/22: I understand the comments from some readers about the obsolescence of the traditional office setup, but this complaint from a former Google employee complaining that all the perks the company offers: three (gourmet, from what I understand) meals a day, shuttles to and from headquarters, bring your dog to work policy, and so on, are “just tricks to make us work harder” makes me think we’ve progressed or regressed into a different work effort.

But at least he’s a former employee; that’s exactly the right response if you don’t like your pay or working conditions: quit. There are plenty of other high-paying jobs in Silicon Valley going begging.
