Ohio Appeals Court upholds $33 million judgement in favor of Gibson’s Bakery and against Oberlin

If you don’t remember the case, the details can be found at the link, but essentially Oberline College’s woke administrators orchestrated a boycott against the local bakery based on a knowingly false claim of racism.

The jury didn’t approve, and awarded a massive $55 million judgment in favor of the plaintiffs which, even reduced by Ohio’s tort law cap on damages, still comes to $26 million in punitive damages and $6 million in legal fees. Oberlin dragged out the proceedings endlessly while waiting for the terminally ill owner to die; the owner (foreground, above) did die, but the strategy, which was intended to reduce damages, didn’t work.

F’em.
