What used to be a joke will now be standard Disney fare

Disney doubles down, will now air transgender PSA attacking Texas

Even acknowledging that Disney is a huge enterprise, owning half of Hollywood, ESPN and Dairy Queens, this still strikes me as a curious and, I hope, losing strategy. The company made its billions on providing family entertainment, including child-safe content in its films and cartoons and of course, its theme parts. To throw that away, and cater to woke employees and a tiny portion of adults instead seems … shortsighted.

It will be fun to watch the action when Disney’s copyright extension comes up before the Senate soon — Congress has almost automatically grated those extensions for decades, prolonging the copyright protection long, long past what the copyright law allows. 2023 may see a different outcome.

Don’t bother writing angry letters to the CEO, or boycotting Disney World, go for the jugular.
