Here’s the scene that must have inspired our little fraudess: Carey Grant is describing to Ralph Bellamy Hildy’s suffering as an impoverished widow if she lacks the proceeds of life insurance on Grant’s life, and when he sees that Bellamy is staring off into the future and hasn’t noticed his tears, Grant nudges him a couple of times to make sure that he does.
