I'd been beginning to think that this one was a teardown, but lo ...
/20 Oak Street, over by Port Chester, has sold for $2.535 million. The sellers paid $2.950 for it in 2006 and must have thought they’d scored a bargain, because they put it back on the market a few months later for $4.8 million; they didn’t get it.
And in between renting it out, they’ve been trying to unload it ever since. This particular round began in August, 2021, at $3.5 million, so at least they had drawn closer to reality by then.
Zillow shares the seller’s initial enthusiasm, and “Zestimates” it very precisely at $4,049,200. The buyers came from Holmes, NY (sort of near Pauling, according to the map), and they may have believed Zillow. In which case, look for them to emulate the sellers and put it back up for sale later this year at $4.5 million or so.
