I’m actually all for this, because it strips away all pretense that teachers are qualified to do anything except raise money for their partners in crime, Democrat politicians.
Way back in 2017, New York dropped its literacy requirements for teachers because, it was said, blacks and hispanics were incapable of demonstrating proficiency in reading and writing. This was somehow supposed to improve the quality of education provided to students; it didn’t, but at least that quality didn’t have far to fall. “Just 18% of the city’s fourth graders were proficient in math, compared with 24% in 2019. Levels that low in New York City have not been seen for nearly 20 years ….”
