Lutherans: “Let us now praise famous animists”

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America wishes any sheeple still in the flock a very unhappy Thanksgiving:

Do they think that their appeal on behalf of animists and bloodthirsty, murderous Muslims will draw those people to Christianity? Do they think at all?

As an aside, I highly recommend Without Reservation: The Making of America's Most Powerful Indian Tribe and Foxwoods, the World's Largest Casino by Jeff Benedict; an informative history of how the Mashantucket Wampanoags et al were invented so that a casino could be built on “their” land. Not quite as humorous as my own Greenwich Meantime, which covers the same ground, but we can’t all be hilarious, and besides, the former has the benefit of still being in print.
