The Still Man is alive and kicking again

After more than a decade of somnolence and falling prices, the houses in the former Rockefeller land served by Stillman and Sherwood Farm Lanes houses are popular again. The latest reported sale is 16 Stillman Lane, listed at $5.6 million and sold yesterday for $5.7. Contrast that with the previous attempt in 2021, when it failed to attract a buyer at $5.395.

Originally built in 2008, this beautifully crafted house sat unloved until 2010, when these owners paid $4.4 for it ($6,208,000 in Biden Bucks). The entire development was put up by two (three?) builders, each of whom is still highly regarded for the quality of their homes, but resale prices were dismal for years; that’s changed since the 2020 market began.
