Fortunately for civilization, Reuters is still out there, still digging for the real truth

The Babylon Bee posted a headline that was entirely believable; so much so, that Reuters felt compelled to write an entire fact check of its own:

There is no evidence of an announcement by social media platform X that its volume of child "grooming" content fell by 83% since Disney stopped advertising on the platform, as suggested by online posts recirculating that claim, which stems from a satirical news website.

Due Diligence: Reuter’s crack team of investigative reporters actually contacted Disney and X to get the facts, m’am, but alas, neither would take their call, possibly because they had better uses for their time:

“Representatives for both Walt Disney Co. and X did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comment.”

Undaunted, the editors went out on a limb, and announced their own, daring conclusion:

VERDICT

Satire. The claim that “child grooming content” on X has fallen after Disney pulled ads in November came from a satirical website.
