Effective Monday, California will use state money to provide free medical care to all illegal aliens who can make it to the Golden State. That’s in addition to free housing, food, and education, naturally. The fun part of this, for the Californians who voted for it, is that, because federal law won’t pay for Medicaid for illegal aliens, California will provide “Medi-Cal” out of its own budget, and, unlike the federal government, states don’t have their own magic dollar machines (yet), so this new largess will come at the expense of spending in other parts of the budget, which already has a $64 billion deficit to make up through spending cuts.

And it’s not only states that are being buried by new beggars from around the globe. Here are the mayors of just three “Sanctuary Cities” crying Uncle. We can be sure there will be more.

Mayors Call on Biden to Declare a Federal Emergency Over Migrant Crisis

New York City Mayor Eric Adams, Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson, and Denver Mayor Mike Johnston held a virtual press conference calling for more action from the federal government. 

…. "We're looking at about $160 million of potential costs going into next year's budget. That's almost 10% of our entire city budget. That's a massive impact for us," Denver Mayor Mike Johnston said.
