Cheap digs on Chapel Lane

17 Chapel Lane sold for $1.3 million in 2006, and it’s been brought back on the market today by Brown Boveri at $1.299. A good friend of mine was the purchaser in 2006 and he did what I thought was a nice job fixing up this 1911, Sears modular, but he moved west some years ago and now it’s being offered “as is”. Must have been some hellacious tenants in there since h left.

Still, it’s in a nice location within easy walking distance (did you know that federal discrimination law forbids realtors from using that term, for fear of hurting the feelings of paraplegics and double-amputees? It’s true.) Were was I? Oh! Within easy walking distance of both Riverside schools, and the train, and even the Riverside Yacht Club, if they’ll let you in. Some substantial recent sales on Chapel should mean that you could put some money into this one and be perfectly safe.

(By the way, Chapel Lane is so named because it was once the site of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church; I’d mention that though the church was moved around the corner in the 50s it’s still close-by, but realtors can’t mention proximity to churches, either, so you’ll just have to drive around and discover it on your own.),
