Maybe lighting will strike: let's hope so

32 Meadowcroft Lane, that blister-pack spec job that heralded the transformation of Meadowcroft from one of the most beautiful streets in town into one of the worst collections of tasteless mega-mansions we’ve seen — so far — is back on the market and looking for $15,000,000.

Built in 2011 by a builder known for completing huge houses in just a few months from groundbreaking to final installation of the forgotten-until-the-day-of-closing Home Depot aluminum dryer vents, it was originally priced by its builder at $12.575, and there it sat, deservedly unloved, until 2014, when a blind man bought it for $9.2. When the first notice of foreclosure landed on the front yard in 2019, the unfortunate debtor immediately put it up for sale at $9.5 million, and this current owner eventually picked it up in 2021 for $7.5.

So, whatever any silk purse improvements made here may have cost this seller, there should be plenty of room to recoup their expense.

(Note) This is a Sotheby’s listing, but when I went to get it, I was met with the error message below, so I used Compass’s site instead. Sotheby’s 404 might have been just a temporary glitch, but I didn’t want to wait, and there is absolutely no way I’m putting a real estate broker’s app on my phone. Just a “thing” of mine; no offense.
