New listing from Gideon

New listing, but old — 1800 — house. 101-103 Old Mill Road, $7.9 million. Eight acres, redone in 2012 without destroying the original. I note that, instead of the now-mandatory “gourmet chef’s kitchen”, this one has a “caterer’s kitchen”. Because no one cares about the comfort of caterers, this may mean that the room is small, cramped, unheated, and equipped with a coal stove, but I’ll ask Gid when I see him.

By the way, and speaking of AI’s insistence on every house having a gourmet and/or chef’s kitchen, have you seen Amazon’s new feature, AI-generated summaries of customers’ reviews? The few that I have read and compared with a sampling of the actual reviews themselves are accurate, and it does save time if you don’t want to wade through a dozen of the five-star and one-star reviews. But it also serves as an alert: Here’s one from a snow rake I looked at after we got hammered with 12” of snow recently:““some are satisfied with it’s sturdiness”, and “opinions are mixed on the value” inspired me to check out the bad reviews, and although I somewhat reluctantly ordered one (other products had the same complaint), I stand ready to post my own one-star review if necessary. Couldn’t tell whether it works in gourmet chef’s kitchens as well as on car roofs, but I guess I’ll find out, as soon as I get both.

Customers say

Customers like the quality, appearance and ease of assembly of the auto accessory. They mention that it's great for clearing off large amounts of snow, it handles snow well and that the extendable handle is very practical. Some are satisfied with the sturdiness. That said, opinions are mixed on the value.
