The camel's nose under the storm grate?

“Reader Up North” sends along this article about a proposed sewer funding bill:

Sewer infrastructure bill would incentivize affordable housing for impoverished CT communities

And he adds this comment:

As you surely know, a lack of water and sewer infrastructure is often the only thing that stops developers from literally paving over many nice, respectable communities in Connecticut. ….

I can see a savvy developer applying for a grant, getting funding for sewer service, and bringing it to the table with a zoning change request, or an 8-30g application, in any number of towns and neighborhoods that currently consider themselves "safe" from such overbuilding.

Nothing Hartford might do when it comes to spreading our urban bight to the suburbs would surprise me.
