A concept so blindingly stupid than only children and Democrats could believe in it
/Biden claims that the real issue facing consumers isn’t the inflation his reckless spending has caused, but food manufacturers’ response to higher commodity prices: Rather than raising their prices to reflect those higher costs and risk losing sales to consumers who might balk at paying, say, two bucks for a candy bar, some manufacturers are keeping the price of their product the same, but reducing its size. Biden’s bosses would have voters think that’s unfair — they don’t go on to admit that the alternative is to force consumers to pay more.
As an example: cocoa prices have doubled in the past year. Hershey could respond to that by either (a) raising the price of its Snickers bar; (b) reducing the size of the bar; or (c) a combination of both. Biden and other Democrats apparently believe they can prohibit “shrinkflation” without consumers having to pay more for a product whose costs of manufacture have soared. How does that work?
Only in the movies.
