Contracts
/123 Park Avenue, in Greenwich proper, asking $3.499 million. The owners paid $4.111 for it in 2007 and put some real money into it, including a new kitchen and a great, well-thought-out mudroom / 1/2 bath entrance (and maybe a side room? Memory lapse) into that kitchen from the rear door. The trouble is, while those certainly weren't cosmetic changes, many of the more basic structural aspects of this 1870s house remain unaddressed, and will need to be; windows come to mind, for instance.
In any event, the original asking price of $4.995 back in 2011 proved too big. Perhaps this one is right, we'll see; it is a contingent contract, after all, not a final one. All that said, it' a beautiful house on a grand street, and someone will end up with a very, very nice home here.
And 19 Brookridge Drive also has a contract. Last asking price was $5.950 million, which certainly isn't chump change, but neither is it the $7.750 it started off looking for in 2015. Another grand old house (1924), in better shape, and on four acres.
