Contract on lower Stanwich
/25 Jeffrey Road, asking $1.825 million. I like this house, for what it is, and the location's good, but there are couple of lessons here: these sellers put it on the market in early January, thereby gaining the attention of the "spring season" buyers tardy homeowners now are just trying to capture (too late, you fools! I warned you!) and the folly of overpricing. Not by these owners, but the previous ones, who back in 2008 priced it at $2.6 million, got nowhere, and finally sold it to our current sellers in 2012 for $1.530. Even with money put into renovations, the 2017 asking price was still $775,000 less than that silly, delusional 2008 offering.
Don't be dumb.
