Friends don't let friends buy on Bedford Road

Even a human born in 1947 doesn't deserve to be called "antique", let alone a house. This house might be "obsolete", perhaps, but surely not antique.

26 Bedford Road, a 1947 structure described in its listing as "an antique country home" , was purchased for $1.975 in 2005, "renovated", and placed back on the market in 2009 priced at $2.2 million dollars. After all this time, its price has dropped only to $1.750. No way.

Bedford Road is about as far removed from Greenwich as you can go without actually leaving town, and prices here reflect that. This particular property has some nice land, but that's about it. It's certainly a perfectly livable home, but I don't see anything that would justify paying one-and-thee-quarters of a million dollars for what is, essentially, four acres and a couple of mules.

The iPhone photos put up on the Internet by the listing agent certainly don't help, either.
