I don't know, what do YOU think?

Reader Gil asks about the new construction at 36 Rockwood Lane, asking $8.250 million. I haven't seen it yet, so can't opine on the yard, if any (much of Rockwood offers rock and swamp, but there are aa few decent lots), and the price seems a bit steep for the neighborhood. On the plus side of the ledger, it was built by Stone Harbor Land Co.— they build superb homes, and, to me, the interior is fabulous.

But while you live in the interior of a house, which makes it the most important aspect of a house, I'm reminded of the yacht designer Callahan's advice back in the 30s that (quoting from memory, so not exact) "as you row away from your ship in your dinghy, you should be able to look back on her and smile". Bring that thought ashore and update it to a Range Rover SUV, and, to me, this house fails the test.
