He was all over the news shows yesterday, yelling at the stupid people who won’t listen to him.

Wallace asked the doctor about becoming a polarizing figure over the last year-and-a-half, to which Fauci replied, “I have stood for always making science, data, and evidence be what we guide ourselves by. And I think people who feel differently, who have conspiracy theories, who deny the reality that’s looking them straight in the eye, those are people that don’t particularly care for me. And that’s understandable, because what I do and I try very hard, is to be guided by the truth. And sometimes, the truth becomes inconvenient for some people, so they react against me.”

Earlier this morning I responded to a reader’s comment about the latest shingles vaccine, the one introduced to replace the previously approved drug that it had discovered was no good. Both vaccines were approved by the same group of medical experts [sic] we’re supposed to trust now.

Ah, our public health guardians! In 2006 the FDA approved, after lengthy, careful examination, a shingles vaccine sold by Merck called "Zostavax", and recommended that everyone over 50 take it to avoid the dreaded viral disease of shingles.

Millions of oldsters followed the advice of their physicians and Dr. Fauci, and submitted to this proven drug. Fourteen years later, and after years of receiving reports of bad results, Zostavax was pulled from the market because of its ineffectiveness (51%, at best), and bad, even deadly side effects. But this is actually good news, Fauci's experts crow, "because now we have a really super, super vaccine that really, really works! We've subjected it to the same stringent testing that we did for Zostavex, so you know you can take it with complete confidence. In fact, why not get a good dose of it administered while you're getting your Monkey Flu booster? You know you can trust us."
