Finally prodded out of the elephant graveyard and sold to a lucky buyer

13 Aiken Road, originally priced at $11.975 million in 2005, has sold for $3,818,750. That seems steep, but buyers don’t have much inventory to choose from these days, so that probably explains it.

At 11,000+ sq.ft. and 4 acres, this 1994 structure is hardly “architecturally unique”; in fact, Rogues Hill is littered with nearly identical carcasses of this size, design, and 1990s style. They sold for peanuts in recent years, if they sold at all, but COVID has flushed New Yorkers from their co-ops and out to “the country”, and they’ve brought their decorating tastes with them.

Which is a lucky thing for their owners, who long ago fled to Palm Beach, leaving real estate agents to clean up their mess.
