Exactly what you deserve, probably, but we’ll soon find out, because that’s what Los Angles and Seattle are doing: LA’s building a $160 million apartment tower for 300 bums. Seattle is showing a surprising amount of fiscal restraint, and building its own boondoggles for the bargain rate of $305,000 per unit. Both cities are using federal taxpayers’ money, naturally.

The idea that people who defecate on sidewalks, toss their trash about, steal anything not nailed down, and in general, prove that they are utterly incapable of running their lives, will magically transform into even modestly civilized people, is the sort of magical thinking that only a Progressive could believe.

Let’s hope the builders use plastic, not copper pipes for plumbing; copper has a cash value, and won’t last a month.
