Those readers with exceptional memory may recall that there was a dustup at the border last September, and Mr. Biden was all over it, promising to investigate the matter and release the results “in days, not weeks”. Speaking several days after the story had been completely debunked, Ol’ Dependables hadn’t been alerted by his handlers that the story “was no longer operative”, so boy, did he ever let the guardians of our open border have it:
“It was horrible what — to see, as you saw — to see people treated like they did: horses nearly running them over and people being strapped. It’s outrageous. I promise you, those people will pay. They will be — an investigation is underway now, and there will be consequences. It’s an embarrassment. But beyond an embarrassment, it’s dangerous; it’s wrong. It sends the wrong message around the world. It’s simply not who we are.”
Three days prior, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas told MSNBC, “We need this resolved swiftly. I anticipate that the results of the investigation will be available by the end of next week and I’ve committed to making the results public.”
Nor was our Invisible Vice President silent:
Harris told reporters on September 21: "What I saw depicted about those individuals on horseback treating human beings the way they were, was horrible."
"And I fully support what is happening right now, which is a thorough investigation into exactly what is going on there," she said.
