As one contemporary moves off the market and perhaps into the dumpster, another begins the same journey
/7 Hillside Road (High School Avenue) hit the market this morning, priced at $1.6650. 1.2 acres in the R-20 zone, which gives it a huge far of 11,000+ sq.ft., it may get it, or something close to that number.
The former owner/designer loved this house and lived there since he built it in 1961. He died this year, aged 100, so I’d say he enjoyed more than his biblically-allotted share of years and took full advantage of them – his obituary says he “lived a long and happy life”, and I’m just a tad envious.
I’m not wild about the house itself, and the listing itself anticipates its replacement — it includes a site plan for a new one — but 1961 architecture has generally aged less well than, at least in this case, its designer.
