Smollett convicted, faces jail time.
Of course he was convicted; the mystery is why his lawyers put him on the stand to commit perjury. Without that, especially if he’d pled out before trial, he’d probably have gotten off with a hard wrist-slap. Now, the judge almost has to put him behind bars, even if just for a month or two. (UPDATE: “Experts” — and I am not one — “expect him to receive no jail time”. )
Dave Chappelle had it right over two years ago.
