Has the bloom gone off the black window farmhouse look so quickly?

22 Angus Lane constructed in 2020 and on the market since January of that year, has taken its 4th price cut and is now asking for $4.699 million. It was originally priced at $6.250 and clung stubbornly to that number for a full year, before, I’d guess, the weight of carrying a large project like this began to grow wearisome, and the builder began tossing dollars overboard.

Then again, who knows what drives some of these house hunting quirks? 9 Hobart Drive, around the corner, was a 1948 home that underwent a (very nice, to my eye) complete black window transformation, sold yesterday for $6 million, after being listed for just $5.7. Go figure.
