Long expected

Next for the wrecker’s ball, 1898 summer house at 187 Shore Road

The house still retains some of its original charm, but its value has been as waterfront land parcel for a long time — a house this size, in this condition, doesn’t sell for $3 million three times since 2013 because buyers like its crown moldings.

So this pending demolition should come as no surprise nor, with apologies to that long ago architect of 1898, cause too many tears.

Anyone else remember when that old PT Boat, converted to a houseboat, was moored alongside here to the left? The boat and its owner must have left in what, the early 70s?
