Abbott simply went directly to the manufacturer Regeneron, which had said when Biden first imposed his rationing on the Red States that it had plenty of supply and could meet any demand there was.

And how are the Blue States doing under Biden’s plan? Well, if Maine is typical, not well: it’s received just 300 doses.

Dr. James Jarvis of Northern Light Health. It’s a lengthy treatment and must be done in a setting that doesn’t expose other patients to COVID-19. Jarvis said that Northern Light Health currently administers about 20 doses per day and has been preparing to ramp up by opening infusion centers at Mercy Hospital in Portland and Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

“And we will continue to proceed with that. It’ll just be a matter of how much of the antibodies we can actually get delivered to us. That would be the rate limiting step for us, is how many people we can do infusions for,” Jarvis said.

The government is doing as well at this as it did with gasoline rationing in the 70s. Does anyone else remember when Ted Kennedy demanded, and received, an extra allotment for Cape Cod to preserve its summer tourist season? They got it, but would-be visitors in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut didn't, and so couldn’t drive up there. Couple government inefficiency with political hatred, and you get what you get.
