(POTENTIAL) SELLERS CONTINUE TO STAY PUT, DANG IT
/There’s just a tiny handful houses on today’s open house tour, which extends from the east side of North Street to the Stamford border: 4 single families, two condos. The list of houses on open house days used to fill two pages at least, and the biggest problem for agents was to try to get to most of them in the limited time allotted. That, for now, is not the case.
This is tough for all of us who have buyers eager to find a home, but one of the difficulties limiting the emergence of new inventory is that, for those owners who’d like to cash in on their home’s huge appreciation while staying in town, where would they move? Downsizers have a great opportunity right now, but for those looking to move up a bit, the price inflation has hit those houses, too, so any “gains” are pretty much illusory.
Maybe the GAR should start placing Florida Chamber of Commerce flyers in mailboxes.
