Was it its historical value?
/57 Tomac Avenue in Old Greenwich has sold for $5.2 million (slightly) above its asking price of $5.195 million.
Once part of the Madoff empire, it didn’t survive his Ponzi scheme’s collapse. But at least, unlike FTX’s journey last week from billions to zero, it retained its land value, and sold in 2016 for $1.345, with all proceeds, one presumes, going to Madoff’s victims. Madoff’s co-conspirator Walter Noel, by the way, is still ensconced, fat and happy and very, very old, up on Rogues Hill.
