Cos Cob sale reported

15 Horseshoe Road, Oct. 28 contract, has sold for $1.775 million on a $2.1 million initial asking price.

Sad real estate story: twenty years or so ago, I showed the house to an (Asian) Indian couple, and informed them that the late owner had recently hanged himself in the garage. “We’re Indian”, the husband said, “so that’s not an issue – we don’t believe in ghosts”. What was an issue was that the house had been carved out of a towering granite ledge, and so had no backyard. Suitable for geologists, I suppose, but this couple had two small children in need of a place to play, so not for them. We found another home.

The rock is still there, but I’m sure any ghost, if there ever was one, has moved on.
