Not a criticism, just an observation

121 Lower Cross Road is under construction and has been listed today at $9.495 million. The artist’s renderings show that it’s been designed in the “modern farmhouse” style (my description; perhaps there’s another, AIA-approved term), just like, it seems every other house that’s been going up recently. And not just in Greenwich: I’ve seen pretty much the same house in Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire which makes me curious. Is this the only design being taught in architectural schools these days, or is this what buyers are demanding?

Again, I have nothing against this style; I find it clean, and less fussy than the retro-shingle mansions that sprouted like malignant mushrooms from the 90s through 2015, or later. I’m just a little surprised at its rapid climb to market dominance.
